Jerry Griffin

Jerry Roger Griffin passed away peacefully at his home in Albany, GA on September 10, 2024. His loving wife for over 59 years, Carolyn Kidd Griffin, was by his side. He is also survived by his son, Mark (Michelle) Griffin of Roswell, GA, daughter, Shirley (Todd) Stone of Jemison, AL, sisters, Ophelia Newman of Augusta,GA, Evellyn (Jerome) Philips of Baker Co.,GA, Henry (Rita) Griffin of Lee County,GA, Carol (Jim) Boyd of Lee County, GA, Bronnie (Cliff) Holton of Camilla,GA, and Sister In-Law, Linda Griffin of Albany, GA, and many nieces and nephews who he dearly loved.

Jerry loved dearly his grandchildren, Todd Michael  (Amy) Stone of Birmingham, AL, Steven (Sharon) Stone of Birmingham, AL, Laura Stone of Foley, AL, Katie Griffin of Roswell, GA and Jack Griffin of Roswell, GA. He leaves behind five great-grandchildren, Shepherd, Henry, Theodore, Thomas and LeiLiana.

Jerry enjoyed working outside in his gardens and fruit trees or building projects. For recreation, he loved playing golf with his group and he loved bream fishing and bird hunting with friends and family. Jerry took pride in his engineering career at Southern Bell for twenty five years and then working at Southern Ag Carriers with his brother Henry and his nephew, Todd. 

The memorial service will be held privately with family at the First Methodist Church, where Jerry was a long-time member. Memorial gifts can be made First Methodist Church , Altar Fund. 307 Flint Ave. Albany, GA 31701.
