Jeannette R. Tucker

Jeannette R. Tucker, 85, of Lee County, GA, died April 14, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Minister Faron Hamner and Minister Eddie Garcia will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Tucker was born in Albany, GA on August 1, 1931 to the late Hoyt and Myrtice Richardson and was an Albany resident until moving to Lee County, GA in 1983. She was a Child Care Provider most of her adult life, keeping children in her home and serving in the Covenant Presbyterian Church Day Care Center.

Mrs. Tucker was a charter member of the Dawson Road Church of Christ and was honored for her thirty two years that she taught Sunday School for the four and five year olds. She also served the Dougherty County School System as a Substitute Teacher.

Survivors include two children, Deborah T. Haire and William F. Tucker (Butch) both of Lee County, GA, a grandchild, Angela Haire Savelle of Albany, GA, much loved nieces and nephews, great, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Tucker, a son-in-law, B.A. Haire, two sisters and a brother.

The family would like to express a sincere thankyou to Pruitt Hospice and Dawson Road Church of Christ for all their caring during the illness of Mrs. Tucker.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday at Mathews Funeral Home.
