Jean Roberts Johnson

Jean Roberts Johnson, 92, of Albany, GA, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate.

Born in Hatley, GA, Mrs. Johnson was raised in Montezuma, GA, and graduated from Montezuma High School. She earned a Home Economics degree from Berry College in Rome, GA. Mrs. Johnson married the late Rufus C. Johnson Jr. in 1950 in Montezuma, GA and lived in Douglas, GA many years before moving to Albany in 1976. She was retired from the Dougherty County Board of Education. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Albany, Daffodil Garden Club, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Albany Thronateeska chapter D.A.R., Ladies of Nasah, and Colonial Dames of the 17th Century.

She is survived by a son R. Cliff (Mary) Johnson III. of Smyrna, GA, a daughter Emily Johnson Haslam of Albany, GA, two sisters Ruth Jones of Reynolds, GA, Priscilla Newsome of Immokalee, FL, a brother Billy Roberts of Montezuma, GA, a granddaughter Amelia Grace Johnson of Smyrna, GA, a sister-in-law Francis Johnson of Greenville, AL, many nieces, nephews, and friends and a special caregiver Betty Lassiter.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
