Jean Elizabeth Boggs, 85, of 1904 Palmyra Road, Albany, GA, died May 30, 2012 at Wynfield Park Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services will be held Friday at 6:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Keith Anthony will officiate. Entombment services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 PM at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta, GA. Rev. Bob Tyler will officiate.
Born in Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Boggs grew up in East Point, GA and resided there until she moved to Fayetteville, GA in 2000. She had resided in Albany, GA for the past year. Mrs. Boggs graduated from Russell High School and was employed with Delta Airlines, Pye Barker Supply Company and retired from Marta.
She was a member of the Moose Lodge, East Point Women’s Club. Mrs. Boggs also served as a Pink Lady at South Fulton Hospital, was a member of the Georgia Motor Trucking Association and The Southwest Christian Church in East Point, GA.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Nona and Gene Jernigan of Albany, GA, a son and his wife, David Byron and Alice Boggs of Fayetteville, GA, her grandchildren, Tripp Jernigan and his fiancée, Ashley Schier and Andy Jernigan all of Albany, GA and Evan Boggs and Chelsea Boggs both of Fayetteville, GA.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM Friday at Mathews Funeral Home.
