Janie Sue Cook, 80, of Albany, GA, died September 23, 2020 at Phoebe Sumter Hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Chris Pollock will officiate. Social distancing will be required.
Sue was born in Iola, TX on September 12, 1940 to Ray and Thelma Wells. She grew up there and graduated from Iola High School. Sue moved to Albany, GA with her husband in 1978 from Columbus, GA. She was employed with Bud’s, Walmart and Sam’s. She was Baptist by faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Rodrick (Rod) Cook and a brother, Raymond (Gene) Wells. Survivors include her children, Marvin (Wendy) Cook of Box Springs, GA and Rhonda Sue (David) Miller of Albany, GA, a sister, Evelyn Wagnon of Bryan, TX, four grandchildren, Michael (Billie) Cook of Box Springs, GA, Kimberly (Bobby) Turner of Dawson, GA, Bryan (Mary Ann) Bruner of Lee County, GA and Jessica (Justin) Lisle of Box Springs, GA and eleven great-grandchildren.
Sue will lie in repose at Mathews Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Friday, September 25, 2020 for family and friends to view and visit.
