Janie Key Odom, 81, of Lee County died Saturday, January 25, 2020 at her residence. There will be a Celebration of Life service with a meal Monday 6 P.M. at Kinchafoonee Baptist Church and a graveside service Tuesday 1 P.M. at Riverside Cemetery. Rev. Melvin Slappey will officiate.
A native of Portal, GA, Mrs. Odom grew up in Portal, Metter and Savannah, and had lived in the Albany area most of her adult life. She retired from Coats and Clark as a Shipping Clerk and was an active member of Kinchafoonee Baptist Church.
She overcame many obstacles in her life that made her the amazing and determined woman she was. She cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She spent many hours at the R S Boney Senior Center and participated in events and trips.
Mrs. Odom was preceded in death by her parents, George Ben and Lottie Matilda Williams Brown, her husbands, Benjamin E. Key, Max Odom, sons, Ricky Key and Timothy Key, brother, Charles “Bud” Brown, sisters, Addie Collins and Elsie Norris.
She is survived by her son, Gregg Key (Amy), Parksville, SC, daughters, Teresa Key Rayburn (Greg), Lee County, Rebecca Key Hunter (Roy), Lee County, grandchildren, Charles Key (Rachel), Hope Key, Nathan Key, Ryan Hunter (Christy), Megan Hunter, Jacob Hunter (Kenna), Matthew Hunter, Madison Rayburn, Samantha Rayburn, great grandchildren, Dawson Ansley, Lincoln Loomer, Kandence Key and Sophie Key.
