Janice Sherrel "Sherry" Tracy

Janice Sherrel “Sherry” Tracy, 75, of Albany, GA, died December 26, 2023 at The Willson Hospice House.  Graveside funeral services will be held Friday, December 29, 2023 at 11:00 am at Crown Hill Cemetery.  Rev. Debbie Cone will officiate.

Sherry was born in Jacksonville, FL on October 9, 1948 to Charlie and Blanche Thaden.  Her father was in The United States Air Force and she traveled to many stations before moving to Albany, GA in 1962.

She graduated from Albany High School in 1966 and was employed with the Dougherty County District Attorney’s Office for many years before joining her husband in his Law Practice.  Sherry was a faithful member of Avalon United Methodist Church, the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class, led a Bible Study Group, card ministry, and was active with the Prayer Chain at the church.  She enjoyed working in her flowers.  In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Tracy III, a brother, Daniel Allen Thaden, and a grandson, Brett Fuller Lamb.

Survivors include her children, Lori Bush (Josh) Burnett of Albany and James T. Bush of Leesburg, GA and four grandchildren, Brady Mitchell Manley of Sylvester, GA, Lacy Sydney Manley of Albany, GA and Hunter Dylan Bush and Kaelin Shay Bush both of Leesburg, GA.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:30 pm until 7:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.
