Janeva Jenkins Snell, 92, of Lee County, GA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, March 7, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will follow to Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. Roger Martin will officiate.
She was born on December 10, 1932, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, to the late Russell Mckinley and Zella Lou Jenkins. Janeva and Millard moved to Albany, GA in 1964 and for over two decades, Janeva thrived in her professional career as a tax preparer. She began her journey at H&R Block before opening her own business, Snell Tax Services, where she found joy in helping others with their taxes.
Outside of her career, Janeva was deeply passionate about her interests and hobbies. She loved working in her yard and flowerbeds and her fishing trips behind her house in their natural spring. A dedicated cook, she often opened her home to others, always ensuring that there was plenty of food and warmth for anyone who gathered at her table. Jeneva also cherished her time at the beach, a place where she could unwind and create lasting memories.
Janeva was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Lamar Snell; her son, Jimmy Lamar Snell; her grandsons, Russell McKinley Fackler and Ryan Snell; and her siblings, John Henry Jenkins and Jim Jenkins.
Janeva leaves behind her loving daughters, Vicky Snell Rogers, Mittie Snell Bryan and her husband, Alan, and Pattie Snell Fackler and her husband, Bruce, all of Lee County, GA. Ten grandchildren: Stephen L. Snell, Kyle Snell (Elizabeth), Rebecca Delcher (Bobby), Jennifer Spears (Clint), Chris Bryan (Beth), Craig Bryan, Corey Bryan, David B. Fackler (Natasha), and her great-grandchildren Lexi and Laci Snell, Eva, Bentley, Isabella Bryan, Hudson and Avery Kate Fackler, Fisher Delcher, Landon Snell, Kinsley Jane Snell, Gabe, and Eli Spears, as well as her great-great-grandchild Eden. She is also survived by her brother, Wesley Ray Jenkins (Brenda), and a special family friend, Mike Massey.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 7, 2025 at Mathews Funeral Home from 1:00pm until funeral hour.
