Jane Lindsey Jones

Jane Lindsey Jones, 98, died January 10, 2018 at Magnolia Manor in Americus, GA. Graveside funeral services will be held Monday, January 15, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Her niece, Mrs. Miriam Morrison will officiate. Born May 16, 1919 in Columbus, OH to Marvin F. and Lillian B. Lindsey, she attended schools in Ohio, Mrs. Jones had been a resident of Albany since 1945 before moving to Magnolia Manor in 2011. She had been employed with Frank Jones State Farm Insurance Agency for many years and later joined Albany Junior College as a Media Specialist retiring in 1981. After retirement, she worked at the Visitor Desk for the Albany Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Jones was a charter member of the of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior and had been an very active member of Porterfield United Methodist Church for many years including the Susannah Wesley Bible Class, the Porterfield United Methodist Women and the XYZ Club. She was also a former member of the Pilot Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. “Bill” Jones, her daughters, Jennifer Lee Jones in 1970 and Linda Jones Rossignol in 2017, and a sister, Evelyn Morrison of Ohio. Survivors include three granddaughters, Becky Rossignol, Lisa Rossignol Singleton and Julie Rossignol all of Albany, GA, a nephew, Jay Lindsey Morrison and his wife, Miriam of York, SC and a niece, Kaye Morrison Griesheimer of Phoenix, AZ and a great-niece and three great-nephews. The family is at 3106 Westgate Dr., Albany, GA, 31721.
