James Allen Wilson

James A, Wilson, 94, of Albany, GA died May 14, 2012 at his residence. A funeral mass was conducted Friday, May 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa's Catholic Church. Rev. Finbarr Stanton will officiate.

A native of Muscatine, IA, Mr. Wilson had resided in Albany since 1959 moving from Boynton Beach, FL. He was retired from Adams AGRI Machinery Company and was a retired MSGT in the Air Force serving during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Wilson was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and a member of American Legion Post # 30. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Sievers Wilson, son, Sgt. Gerald L. Wilson, daughter-in-law, Vanda B. Wilson, two grandchildren, Gerald (Jerry) Wilson, Jr. and David (Davy) Wilson.

Survivors include his children, James G. Wilson of Spanaway, WA, Alvin "Chip" Wilson (Carolyn) of Leesburg, GA, Shirley Wilson of Albany, GA, Michael Wilson (Joan) of Duluth, GA, Diane Wilson-Poey (Frank) of Worth County, GA, Julie Ramsey (Jon Allan) of Albany, GA and Betty McGee (Barry) of Leesburg, GA; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; niece, Helen Weiershauser.

The family would like to give a special thank you to, Terry Bowman, Steve Garner and Albany Community Hospice for the personal care and concern they have shown our father.

The family will received friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
