James "Randy" Smith

James Randy Smith, 61, of  Lee County, GA, passed away Monday March 27, 2023,  at Willson Hospice House. Memorial Services will be held Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Mathews Funeral Home at 3:00 P.M. an inurnment will follow at a later date at Crown Hill Mausoleum.  Rev. Mark Spraggins will officiate.

Randy was born March 17, 1962 in Waycross, Georgia to Mr. A.E. and Janice Yawn Smith, He has lived in Lee County most of his life and was currently employed with G&G Gophers as a courier until  his illness. He was a fan of all sports and was a loyal fan of the Georgia Bulldogs. GO DAWGS! Randy was a friend to all never met a stranger, he loved big and laughed often. But most of all he loved his wife, children, and grandchild.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Smith of Charlotte NC as well as a dear friend, Kevin Owens, who’s family, Stacy, Katelyn, Haley, Lindsey and Jacob, he consider as is own.   

Survivors include his wife of  35 years, Lisa D. Smith, son Michael Smith all of Lee Co, daughter, Mandy Smith Nelson(Colby) of Reynolds, GA, Granddaughter, Elizbeth Reed Nelson, parents, A.E. and Janice Smith of Albany, GA, siblings, Vicky Cosby (Ellis) of Worth Co, Robby Smith of Albany, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
