James Shawn Cox

James Shawn Cox, 49, of Lee County, GA, died January 22, 2018 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.  

A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.  Rev. Ray Levreault will officiate. 

A native of Dawson, GA, Shawn grew up in Lee County and graduated from Lee County High School in 1988.  He was employed with Coats and Clark for the past ten years as Maintenance Supervisor and was a member of St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.  Shawn was an Outdoorsman and loved to hunt.  He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Brooks Cox and a brother, Dwayne Cox.

Survivors include his wife, Nicole Cox and a daughter, Bristol Cox both of Lee County, GA, his mother, Dorothy Givens of Donalsonville, GA, a brother and his wife, Gene and Myra Cox of Panama City Beach, FL and his in-laws, Richard and Doris Milburn of Lee County, GA.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
