James A. (Jimmy) Rogers, Jr

James A. (Jimmy) Rogers, Jr., of Georgetown, GA, formerly of Albany, GA died peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 8, 2017. Jimmy was born on May 11, 1935 in Albany, GA. He married his sweetheart, Celia Davis in 1952. He served in the Army National Guard for ten years. He retired from Four Points Grocery in 1976, after which he operated a vending route before retiring again in 1997 and relocating to Georgetown, GA.

Jimmy was active in the Georgetown Baptist Church, where he was a regular attendee of the Adult Sunday School Class.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Celia, daughter Jennifer Ann Rogers of Albany, GA, two sons, Steven Rogers (Mary), Thomasville, GA, Derek Rogers, Whitter, CA and a sister, Linda Warren, Mt. Pleasant, SC. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Rogers, Sr., Tuscon, AZ, his mother, Sara Frances Rozar, Albany, GA and a brother Jack Rogers, Pensacola, FL.

In keeping with his request, Jimmy will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, IL, 60611.
