James Trafford Milner

James T. Milner,78, of Albany, GA, died June 29, 2023 at his son’s residence in Mitchell County, GA.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 11:00 am at The Walden Chapel at First United Methodist Church of Albany.  Rev. Jim Morrow will officiate.  Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

James was born in Ocilla, GA on December 13, 1944 to the late Armond Esther and Bessie Mae Milner.  His family moved to Albany early and he lived there all of his life.  James went to work at the age of fourteen and was still employed at the time of his death.

James went to work with Rhodes Furniture before he joined the Albany Fire Department in 1967. He retired in 2000 after thirty-three years of service.  After his retirement, he was employed with Car Quest (now Advanced Auto).  James and his late wife, Rebecca Ann Milner were longtime members of First United Methodist Church of Albany. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca B. Milner, his siblings, Mattie M. Roberts and Armond Eugene Milner.

Survivors include his son, Richard B. (Christie) Milner of Mitchell County, GA, four siblings, Marvin Milner (Teresa) Howard Milner (Latrelle), Mary Jenkins, all of Albany, GA, Mildred Grace (Doug) Evergreen, AL, Jerdine Webb Sylvester, GA, his grandchildren, Justin Milner and Jessica Milner both of Albany, GA and his great-grandchildren, Dallas Milner, Peyton Roberts and Rylan Cherry.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00 am Thursday before the service at The Walden Chapel.
