James L. "Don" Nicholson

James L. “Don” Nicholson, 83, of Albany died Sunday, December 19, 2021 at Lee County Health and Rehabilitation. The family will hold a private service with Nicholas Barry and Rev. Debbie Cone officiating.

A native of Albany and part of the Albany High School Class of 1957, Mr. Nicholson was retired from the U. S. Air Force serving during Vietnam. He spent time in San Antonio and Houston before moving back to Albany in 2012 after the death of his wife of 40 years, Trudy Nicholson.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Bernice Nicholson and a brother Wilburn Nicholson.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Martha L. Nicholson, step son Karl Schulenburg, step grandson, Michael Schulenberg, niece Kathy Hanson (Tony), a great niece and two great nephews.
