James Willoughby (J.W.) Hunt, 68, of Albany, GA, died Saturday, June 29, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Beacon Baptist Church. Rev. Reagan Marsh and Rev. Fred Bell will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. Rusty Hunt, Ricky Hunt, Thomas Broome, Jonathon Burris, Michael Newberry, Randy Newberry, Robbie Barkley and Kevin Barkley will serve as pallbearers.
A native of Donaldsonville, GA, born to the late Cebren and Bertha Lucille Hunt, Mr. Hunt had lived in Albany, GA since 1964 moving from Colquitt, GA. He was retired from Anderson Steel Erectors and had been employed with State Plantation for the past thirty years. Mr. Hunt was a member of Beacon Baptist Church and the Couples II Sunday School Class.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Hunt of Albany, GA, four daughters, Tonya (J. D.) Bright of Canmer, KY, Shellye (Randy) Russell of Horse Cave, KY, Stacie Hancock Cook of Summerville, SC and Veronica (Max) Parrish of Leesburg, GA, a sister, Margaret (Kenneth) Lowery of Tallahassee, FL, a brother, Marvin (Marsha) Hunt of Byron, GA, six grandchildren, Brittany Bryant and Justin (Sarah) Bryant all of Horse Cave, KY, Savannah Hancock and Dakota Hancock both of Summerville, SC and Brooklyn Parrish and Rex Parrish both of Leesburg, GA, two great-grandchildren, Braxton and Bentley Bryant and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
