James A. Henemyre, 70, of Leesburg, GA, Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Lance Finley will officiate. Interment will follow in Thundering Springs Cemetery.
Our daddy departed this life on September 1, 2013. He was a devoted husband, great daddy, dedicated grandpa and a new great grandpa. He was born December 29, 1942 to the late Henry and Helen Henemyre in Richmond, Indiana. Raised in Indiana and Ohio he joined the Army reserves at a young age. He traveled the US building green houses until he met our mom and they married in January 1965. They had four children and moved to Albany where he worked at Proctor and Gamble until his retirement in 1999. He devoted many years to Dixie Youth Baseball as president of the International League in east Albany. He then became director of the southwest district of Dixie Youth Baseball.
He leaves behind a loving wife of forty eight years, Shelby L. Henemyre of Leesburg, GA, three daughters Cindy Dyess and husband Jerry of Leesburg, GA, Cheryl Haley and husband Jim of Baconton, GA, Wendy Blount and husband George of Leesburg, GA, a son James Henemry Jr. (Jamie) and his wife Erin of Leesburg, GA, nine grandchildren Courtney, Brook, and Jerry Jr. Dyess of Leesburg, Heather and Lucas Haley of Baconton, James Henemyre III (Jay), Tori, Chandler, and Brandi Blount of Leesburg, and one great granddaughter Leiah Lee, a brother Junior Henemyre and wife Felie of Maryland. All who knew him loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
