James Kenneth Faircloth, 86, of Albany, GA, died September 29, 2023. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 2:00 pm at The Baconton United Methodist Church. Rev. Ernie Rodgers will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Kenneth was born in McRae, GA on September 6, 1937 to James and Verlie Mae Faircloth. He moved with his family to Albany, GA when he was ten years old. Kenneth started his paper route with The Albany Herald the same year and had 100 customers and serviced the route on foot. He got a bicycle and then a motor bike and built his route to 300 customers and serviced his route until he graduated from Albany High School in 1956.
Ten days after graduating from High School, Kenneth moved to San Diego, CA and served his Country in the United States Navy. He married his High School sweetheart, Mozelle Sinclair and welcomed two daughters. After the Navy, he joined his father and brother in the family business that became Faircloth Bonding.
He spent a total of eight years as The Chief Aide for GA. Representative Dawson Mathis and U.S. Senator Matt Mattingly. Kenneth continued his career in the Agricultural Field and was employed with Raymar Supply Company until his retirement.
Kenneth loved the outdoors and enjoyed deer, dove and especially Quail Hunting. He was a member of Baconton United Methodist Church, Dougherty Lodge # 591 F&AM and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason in The Valley of Albany and was a member of The Hasan Shriners. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mozelle Faircloth, two brothers, Ager Best and Curtis Faircloth.
Survivors include his second wife, Patricia (Patty) Faircloth, two daughters, Donna (David) Hayes, and Lissa (Greg) Rowe, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, two nephews, Lavon Faircloth and Mickey Best, two step-daughters, Allison Miller and Lindsey (Jamie) Surface and a step-son, Frank Capps and his dog, DJ.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorials in memory of Kenneth to The Baconton United Methodist Church, 187 E. Walton St. Baconton, GA, 31716 or to The Georgia Sheriff’s Boy’s Ranch, 5671 GA-122, Hahira, GA, 31632.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Tuesday at Baconton United Methodist Church.
