James Sandy Anderson

James Sandy Anderson, 77, of Albany, GA. died Monday, October 2, 2023 at Willson Hospice House. A funeral mass will be held Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church with military honors.

Mr. Anderson was born in Long Beach, CA and went on to earn his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California Riverside in 1973. He served in the United States Marine Corps and retired after over twenty-five years of service. Mr. Anderson continued to work at the Marine Corps Logistics Base for seventeen years in civil service. He was a Georgia high school football referee and baseball umpire and worked many football and baseball games for the region. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling the world. Mr. Anderson was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and an active parishioner St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Mary Thomas Anderson, his daughters, Kelly Anderson Aldridge and her husband Chad and Jennifer Anderson, and six grandchildren, Morgan Anderson, Slade Anderson, Zerra Akridge, Eden Akridge, Vivienne Aldridge and James Aldridge.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church.
