Jacqueline "Jackie" Tucker Scott, 86, formerly of Dawson and Albany, GA passed away peacefully on January 5, 2025, in Tallahassee, FL. Born in Alapaha, GA on June 14, 1938, to Sol Tucker, Sr. and Essie Bishop Tucker, Jackie was the youngest of six children.
Jackie was known for her loving, generous, and kind-hearted nature, infused with humor and independence. Her strength and resilience were admired by all who knew her.
A long-time member of Faith Baptist Church, Jackie was very involved in the church community, particularly in the 1970s, when her husband served as the Minister of Music. Her faith and commitment to her church and family were integral parts of her life.
Retiring after over 20 years of dedicated service at Lowe's in Albany, Jackie was affectionately known as "Mrs. Jackie" among her colleagues who respected and admired her deeply. Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her devotion to her family.
Jackie's hobbies included sewing, quilt-making, baking, and gardening. She expressed her love for her family through her crafts, creating beautiful quilts and delicious baked goods, and maintaining a vibrant garden. Her red velvet cake was the family’s favorite. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, filled with the fruits of her labors.
Jackie is survived by her children, Shelley Norman Aultman (Larry) of Havana, FL, Jerry Norman (Angela) of Sylvester, GA, Deborah Norman Salter (Will Stark) of Leesburg, GA and Donna Scott McRee (Cleve) of Dawson, GA; her sisters Eloise Tucker Contreras of San Antonio, TX and Marie Tucker Rooks of Jacksonville, FL. "Meemaw" leaves behind a legacy through her 14 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert F. Scott, Sr.; her son, Anthony (Tony) Norman; her siblings Herman Tucker, Sol Tucker, Jr., Geneva Tucker Garcia and her parents.
Jackie's memory will be cherished by all who knew her, as her legacy of love, generosity, and strength continues to inspire.
A private family celebration of life will be held to honor Jackie. Rev. Matt Hall will officiate.
