Jacqueline Hornsby

Jacqueline “Jackie” Hornsby passed away on October 4th, 2024 in Albany, Georgia at the age of 62, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 20th, 1962 in Wiltshire, England; Jackie spent her younger childhood in England and relocated, with her family to South Africa when she was 9 years old. Educated and trained in bookkeeping/accountancy. Jackie married her beloved husband, Nigel Peter Hornsby and gave birth to her son, Ronald Hornsby in 1981.

Jackie relocated to England with her husband and son in 1991 and by 1998, the family set sail on a yacht around parts of Europe. In 2003 she emigrated to the USA with her husband and by 2013 became a fully-fledged American citizen.

Jackie’s time in South Africa, England and the USA, ensured her life, although sadly shortened, was a full one. Full of experiences, memories, love and loss. From traveling across the USA and Canada, to crossing the Atlantic, traveling the French & Belgian canal systems and visiting countless Countries. Jackie enjoyed watching a good murder mystery, a spot of sci-fi, dabbling in arts and crafts and dispensing helpful advice, following a good natter.

Intelligent, loving, generous and fiercely loyal. Jackie’s closet family was her pride and joy, her husband of 43 years, Nigel Hornsby, her son, Ronald Hornsby, her son-in-law James Greaves, her stepfather, Richard Penn and her dearly missed Mother, Madelaine Barnes.

Jackie will forever be missed and dear in the hearts of her family and friends.
