Jack M. Fore, Sr

Jack Mitchell Fore, Sr., 86, of Leesburg, GA, died December 7, 2014. Visitation will be held at Mathews Funeral Home on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM at The First Baptist Church of Leesburg, GA. Dr. Todd Sullens and Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will immediately follow at the Leesburg Cemetery.

Mr. Fore, a lifelong resident of Leesburg, GA, was born to the late J. Ernest Fore, Sr. and late Marie Mitchell Fore on October 30, 1928. Upon graduating from Leesburg High School, he served in the United States Air Force during World War II where he participated in the Berlin Airlift.

A local businessman for over sixty years, Mr. Fore owned and operated the Jack M. Fore Oil Company and Leesburg Auto Parts. As a member and former Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Leesburg and the Perry Kearse, Sr. Adult Sunday School class, Mr. Fore took great pride in his 55 years of perfect Sunday School attendance. Mr. Fore was also a member of various community organizations: a member of The American Legion Post # 184, a member of The Lee County Lions Club, past President of The Lee County Lions Club, a past District Governor for the Southeast District of The Lions Club, and was active in local politics and charitable organizations.

Mr. Fore was survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Doris Snelson Fore of Leesburg, GA, four daughters, Sue Fore (Raymond Edwards) of Leesburg, GA, Ann Groover (Bill Groover) of Ocala, FL, Jackie Fore-Wilson (Stan Wilson) of Pinehurst, GA, Deveta Dooley (Daniel Dooley) of Cumming, GA, a son, Jack M. Fore, Jr. of Leesburg, GA, eleven grandchildren, Chanta Hatfield Howard (Jim Howard) of Atlanta, GA, Aperil Hatfield Sellers of Atlanta, GA, Brad Hatfield, Jr. (Ashley Hatfield) of Leesburg, GA, Lori McDonald (Wayne McDonald, deceased) of Ocala, FL, Joe Groover (Victoria Groover) of Pearl City Oahu, HI, Calvin Groover (Erica Groover) of Murphy, NC, Katelyn Manresa (Julio Manresa) of Summerfield, FL, Jack M. Fore, III of Bathe, NY, Greg Fore (Vanessa Fore) of Leesburg, GA, Donavon Fore of Leesburg, GA and Connor Dooley of Cumming, GA, sixteen great-grandchildren and a special niece, Sharon Snelson Wilson of Azle, TX.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Fore was preceded in death by his siblings: Jeanie Fore Reese, Davis Fore, J.E. "Johnny" Fore, Jr., and Wallace "Tots" Fore.
