Hurley Edward Davis

Hurley Edward Davis, 83, of Albany, GA, died August 7, 2015 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Jim Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

A native of Marlow, GA, born to the late Lester and Ella Davis, Hurley graduated from Effingham County High School. Mr. Davis joined the United States Air Force and served as Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. Mr. Davis obtained accreditation in vehicle and fleet maintenance from USAF schools in Oklahoma and Wyoming. He graduated from Albany Area Vocational College in 1983.

He had lived in Albany since 1958 and was employed as a mechanic for twenty three years at Lykes Brothers. He was also employed as a mechanic and electrician at Miller Brewing Company for twelve years, where he received the Perfect Attendance Award from 1982 until 1991.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Davis of Albany, GA, three daughters, Valerie Davis Benton and her husband, Harold of Lee County, GA, Shirley A. Davis of Canton, GA and Sandra Davis Hart and her husband, Alex of Lee County, GA, a son, Brian Hurley Davis of Albany, GA, seven grandchildren, Benjamin Michael Turner and his wife, Angela of Lexington, KY, Jacob Turner Benton and his wife, Paige of Seattle, WA, Amy Motiwalla and her husband, Rob of Canton, GA, Rachel Waits Etheridge and her husband, Matthew of Lee County, GA, Hilary Waits of Valdosta, GA, Taylor Rojas and her husband, Miguel of Albany, GA and Brianna Davis of Worth County, GA, six great- grandchildren Dillon Turner, Emma Grace Turner, Marissa Motiwalla, Maxine Motiwalla, Izaiah Rojas, and Rylie Etheridge, and three sisters, Eloise Jenkins of Guyton, GA, Lebernice Towers of Jacksonville, FL and Audrey Tucker and her husband, Wilton of Guyton, GA,

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
