Hugh Harold Duke

Hugh Harold Duke, 77, of Lee County, GA, died June 27, 2018 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. David Fisher will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Worth County.

A native of Worth County, GA, Harold was born to the late Hoyt and Lillie Duke and lived in Doerun, GA and Perry, GA moving to Lee County, GA in 2012. He graduated from Albany Technical Institute. Harold was employed with Kwick Check and Winn Dixie for forty four years before retiring in 2003. He was a member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church and was a long time member of Hanesville Baptist Church. Harold was preceded in death by his siblings, James Duke, Ralph Duke, Virginia Heard, Jean Walters and Joyce Riley.

Survivors include his children, Dennis (Meredith) Duke of Senoa, GA, Lynn Sardonia of Atlanta, GA, Julie Duke and Melissa Adkins both of Lee County, GA, two brothers, David (Gina) Duke of Worth County, GA and John (Pat) Duke of Shellman, GA, his grandchildren, Shannon (Jason) Faulk of Worth County, GA, J.R. Hulett of Bainbridge, GA, Andrianna Smith, Sebastian “Bubba” Adkins, Aubrie Adkins, Isabella Adkins and Hunter Adkins all of Lee County, GA, and his great-grandchildren, Jordyn Faulk, Morgan Faulk and Lauren Faulk.

The family will receive friends Saturday from1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
