Hubert Franklin Scott, Sr., 89, of Dawson, GA, formerly of Albany, GA, died May 19, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery with Masonic Rites.
A native of Worth County, GA, he was born to the late Rev. William M. Scott, Sr. and Lois Apperson Scott. Mr. Scott grew up in Sale City, GA and served in the United States Army during World War II. He moved to Albany, GA in 1945 and owned and operated Albany Custom Mill Works until opening Scott Food Store Equipment Company.
He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church, Dougherty Lodge #591, and Hasan Shrine Center, where he was a member of the Ritual Cast.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie T. Scott, of Dawson, GA, his children, Hubert F. "Bubba" Scott, Jr. (Judy), Tony Scott, Darlene Scott Olesiak (Dennis), all of Albany, GA, Donna Scott McRee (Cleve), of Dawson, GA, Jerry Norman (Angela), of Sylvester, GA, Deborah Norman Salter, of Leesburg, GA, Shelley Norman Aultman (Larry), of Havana FL, a sister Christine Scott Bullington of Albany, GA, eighteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother William "Billy" Scott, Jr. and a sister, Betty Scott Guyton.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Mathews Funeral Home.
