Hubert "Randy" Harpe

Hubert Randy Harpe, 60, of Morgan, GA, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2017 at his residence.  Graveside funeral services will be conducted, Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 11:00 am. at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery in Edison, GA.  Rev. David Wolfe will officiate. 

Born in Cuthbert to the late J.C. and Juley Harpe, Randy graduated Calhoun County High School where he was active in FFA and sports, attended ABAC and chose a career in agriculture.  He was a member of Edison United Methodist Church.  Randy was devoted to friends and family, enjoyed lessons learned from the company of old timers and doted on children.  He loved literature, history, learning and helping others.  Randy was a simple, purely honest and genuine man.  He lived in awe of the cycles of life and growth in all living things, counting his blessings every day. Friends were family and he was a father figure to many. 

In addition to his parents Randy was preceded in death by a brother Buster Harpe.  Survivors include his daughter Beth Harpe, granddaughter Macy Ford and a nephew Jamie Harpe. 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 26 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
