Howard "HW" Lee Wilson was born in 1949 in Cuthbert, GA to Bernice Galloway Rogers and Wesley Howard Wilson. Howard graduated from Terrell County High School and attended college for a short time until he was offered a job with the State of Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Fisheries as Hatchery Superintendent. He later transferred to Albany Fisheries where he was a Wildlife Tech III. He had a passion for wildlife and excelled at his career. His coworkers became like family and are still a huge part of his life, fishing and meeting together for vacations and outings.
Trips to Eastpoint, FL, cruise vacations, cooking, and fishing with family and friends were some of his favorite past times. He had many talents, one of which, by no surprise to anyone but him, was sitting in front of a scroll saw creating beautiful pieces of art. He became a well-known artist and spent his retirement years traveling to art shows with his wife and winning numerous awards for his skill.
Howard attended Providence Church in Albany, GA where he found a love for Christ like never before. He spent his last years surrounded by the love of his life, his wife of 32 years Linda Wilson, daughters Krista Hindsman, Courtney McCoy, and Connie Wilson, grandchildren Austin Wilson, Riley Hindsman, Jake Wilson and Lilah McCoy, and loving sister, Patsy (Bobby) Price.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Virginia Ann Hammond. Other survivors include Lee Wilson.
His favorite Pastors Jason Spears and Brynn Copron will be officiating a Celebration of Life Friday, January 11, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Providence Church of Albany, GA. In lieu of flowers, a donation in his name can be made to Go Fish Center, WRD Fisheries 2067 US HWY 278 SE Social Circle, GA 30025 or Providence Church Building Fund, 2504 Archwood Dr, Albany, GA 31707.
