Homer R. Truman

Homer R. Truman, 79, of Leesburg, GA, died February 8, 2013 at Willson Hospice House. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Conway Harris will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery with military honors.

A native of Clay County, WV, Mr. Truman was a graduate of Clay County High School and was retired from the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He moved to the Albany area in 1983 from Ft. Dix, NJ and was employed with Lee State Prison until his retirement. He was a member of Believers Baptist Church in Tifton, GA.

Survivors include three sons, Joe Eric Truman and his wife, Amanda of Leesburg, GA, John Ralph Truman of Sylvester, GA and Roger Charles Truman and his wife, Cathleen of Oakfield, GA. eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sophie Truman in 2012.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM Wednesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
