Hilda Martin Branch

Hilda Martin Branch, of Albany, GA., died Friday, May 27, 2022 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. David Cromie will officiate.

She was born July 13, 1930 to George Martin, Sr. and Mable Steed Martin. She was the fourth of five surviving children. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and loved gardening in her earlier years. She still grew her Show Stopper amaryllis.

Because she loved the Lord, she loved her church family as Faith Baptist Church. She attended forty years with her last attendance being on Mother’s Day 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-five years, George Milton Branch, a grandson Robert George Thrower, two sisters, Inez Cochran and Catherine Duncan and a brother George Jr Martin.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy Sherwood (Les) and Barbara Thrower (Ralph), her grandchildren, Jimmy Martin Prothro, Jason Prothro, Ralph Costin Thrower IV, Elizabeth Thrower Moore, her great grandchildren, Matt Prothro, Stephen Prothro, Lily Prothro, Lilly Moore, and Madison Moore and a sister Joanne Martin Siefert.
