Henry Vernon Walls, Sr

Henry V. Walls, Sr., 77, of Sasser, GA, died August 18, 2015 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Philema Road Baptist Church. Rev. Dan Harris will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Cordele, GA, he was born the youngest of twenty children born to the late Lummie and Mary Walls. He grew up on a farm in Crisp County and moved to Lee County, GA in 1967. Mr. Walls was employed with Senah Plantation for twenty seven years' retired from Southern Heritage Plantation and was currently working with Blackgold Ranch and Feed Lot in Lee County, GA. He was a member of Philema Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie A. Walls of Sasser, GA, two sons, Rick (Christy) Walls and Vernon (Connie) Walls all of Leesburg, GA, two daughters, Elizabeth Peek of Sasser, GA and Janice (Tommy) Barrow of Leslie, GA, a sister, Ruby (C.H.) Carnes of Andersonville, GA, six grandchildren, Shaun (Jessica) Walls of Tifton, GA, Ashley Proctor of Leesburg, GA, Annalee Walls of Leesburg, GA, Holly Peek of Dawson, GA, Christopher (Sarah) Peek of Barney, GA and Leslie (Zeb) Meyer of Leesburg, GA and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
