Helena Robinson Banks, 88, of Albany, GA died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Rev. Gail Long will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
A native of Jacksonville, FL, born to Glen P. Robinson, Sr. and Laura Mae Lewis Robinson, Mrs. Banks moved from Valdosta, GA to Albany, GA in 1970. She received her B.A. Degree from Cornell University and was a homemaker. Mrs. Banks was a member of The Daughter's of The American Revolution, The Colonial Dames and St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where she was a former member of the Alter Guild. She was the widow of William C. Banks, Jr. and was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Donald Booth.
Survivors include her two daughters, Laura Banks Booth of Albany, GA and Betty Suggs and her husband, Dwayne of Leesburg, GA, a brother, Glen P. Robinson, Jr. and his wife, Jan of Atlanta, GA and two grandchildren, Matthew Dwayne Suggs and Andrew Banks Suggs both of Leesburg, GA.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
The family will be at the residence of Dwayne and Betty Suggs, 647 Winifred Road, Leesburg, GA, 31763.
