Helen Hogge Rooks

Helen Hogge Rooks, 95, of Beaufort, SC, formerly of Albany, GA passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Rooks was born on October 5, 1917, the first of five siblings to the late Clinton & Lucille Hogge. She was a United States Coast Guard veteran of World War II, and resided in Albany for many years, where she was a member of Porterfield United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Milton Parr Rooks, Sr. and two brothers, Tom Hogge and Jim Hogge.

She is survived by two sisters, Anne Pinckney and Mary Rudisill, both of Beaufort, SC; one son, Milton Parr "Mills" Rooks, Jr. of Port Royal, SC; a granddaughter, Kelly Rooks Haddock and husband Buster of Damascus, GA; a grandson, Milton Parr "Bubba" Rooks, III and wife Jenny of Jonesboro, GA; and two great-grandsons she adored, Carter Ross Haddock and Braden Parr Rooks.

Her remains were cremated and will be interred at Andersonville National Cemetery.
