Helen Hancock Powell

Helen Hancock Powell, 89, of Albany, GA, died May 30, 2015 at Morningside Assisted Living. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Ronnie Kinsaul will officiate.

Helen was born in Sylvester and resided in Waycross before moving to Albany twenty five years ago. Helen enjoyed baking cakes and was a member of Raleigh White Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son Jerry Lee Powell in 2008 and her husband, Orus Lee Powell in January of this year.

Survivors include her children, Kitty Powell Cole (Larry) of Lee County, GA, Jackie Edward Powell (Gail) of Orange Park, FL and Joey Orus Powell (Donna) of Albany, GA, two sisters Vivian Belcher of Albany, GA and Shelby Jean (Bill) Bass of Tifton, GA, eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
