Helen Jeanette Crowell Goff

Helen Jeanette Crowell Goff, 88 of Albany will be held at 11:00 AM Friday January 27, 2017 at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Cook will officiate. A private interment will held following at Crown Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home.

Helen died Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany. She was born March 17, 1928 (St. Patrick's Day) in Clio, AL the daughter of Alonzo Hartwell Crowell and Bessie Viola Dunn. She was united in marriage to Shirley Franklin Goff on January 28, 1955 in Albany, GA. They have been married a few days short of a 62 year marriage.

Helen worked at Coats and Clark, MacGregor Golf, Fritex, and retired from Sears where she was manager over several Departments. Upon retiring she attended art classes and became a very excellent artist. Many of her oil paintings can be found in the home of relatives. Once her husband retired, they hit the road traveling and planting their feet in all of the lower 48 states, Canada and Mexico. As a devoted and loving parent, grandparent, great-grandparent she spent countless hours with these children camping, hiking, skiing fishing and on vacation trips.

Helen was a member of Gillionville Baptist Church, being a very active member up until her health declined. She served the church in many capacities in behind the scene work for the Lord. She volunteered and served her church. She gave her life to Christ at a young age and had an unwavering faith in God. Her life exampled her strong faith.

She is survived by her husband, Shirley Franklin Goff, Albany, children, and spouses, Frank (Zaroga) Goff, Albany, Tommy (Karen) Goff, Albany, Jeanette (Warren) Baldwin, Leesburg, Venae Washington, Albany, grandchildren, Sonja (Brian) Stockett, Woodstock, David (Laura) Goff, Valdosta, Katie (Kurt) Banner, Leesburg, Matt (Babs) Baldwin, Leesburg, Dustin (Julia) Goff, Valdosta, Jared Goff, Albany and 13 great-grandchildren.
