Heather Francine Knighton

Heather Francine Knighton, 51, of Albany, GA died Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Beattie Road Church of Christ. Mr. Paul Montandon will officiate.

Heather was born and raised in Albany, GA to John and Jan Knighton, who survive her. She also survived by her son, Jordan Bradley Knighton and wife Nikki, two grandchildren, Bradly John Knighton, Hollie Ann Knighton, all of Albany, GA, one sister, Blaire Nicole Wilkerson and husband Jered, and nephew, Logan Hudson Wilkerson, all of Nashville, TN.

Heather had a big heart. She loved old people and animals, especially cats. Heather suffered with mental illness. Her family loved her so very much. Loving a mentally ill person can be very difficult at times especially when that person is your child. We suffered much heart-break in raising her, struggling with trying to save her from herself.

Heather always said “Good Night” and “I Love You” at bedtime. She often said to her parents, “I wish I could be normal.” And, at times, she really tried to be.

As her parents and Christians, we feel that God has taken her in His loving arms. She was baptized as a teen at camp one summer. Heather will be forever loved and missed.
