Hazel Fraser Andrews

Hazel Fraser Andrews, 94, of Albany, GA, died March 2, 2019 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital North Campus.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday March 6, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.  Rev. Debbie Cone will officiate.  Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Andrews was born in Macon, GA on April 19, 1924 to Marion and Annie Maude Fraser.  She graduated from A. L. Miller High School and married her late husband, Wilbur Jackson Andrews.  They moved to Albany, GA in 1957 from Carrollton, GA and she was employed with Layne-Atlantic for thirty two years.  Mrs. Andrews was a devout Christian and a longstanding member of Avalon United Methodist Church where she attended the Friendship Sunday School Class.  She was also a member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors.   Mrs. Andrews was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances Fraser Allgood and Juanita Fraser Cook.

Survivors include her children, Gail Andrews White (Roderick) of St. Simons Island, GA and Jack Andrews of Albany, GA, her siblings, Priscilla Swilley of Albany, GA, Marilyn Arnett of Lizella, GA and a brother Curtis E. Fraser (Priscilla) of St. Simons Island, GA, four grandchildren, Laura Hutchison (John) and David Andrews all of Raleigh, NC and Rod White (Heather) and Nancy Tracy (Joe) all of Atlanta, GA and seven great-grandchildren.

Hazel lived her life for her God, her family and her friends.  Aunt Hazel “Hazee” will be cherished in the memories of her many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
