Harry E. Johnson

Harry, E. Johnson, 78, of Albany, GA, died Sunday, May 21, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 26, 2017 at Lakeside Baptist Church at 2:00 pm. Rev. Ken Chancellor and Rev. Roy Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery. The American Legion Post 30 will provide military honors.

Born in Cordele, GA, Mr. Johnson had resided in Albany for the past fifty-four years. After graduating High School Harry served in the United States Air Force. He retired from Keenans Auto Parts as Sales Manager with over forty five years of service. He was a member of Lakeside Baptist Church, The Pastors Sunday School class, the American Legion Post 30, and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. Harry was preceded in death by his wife Gene Johnson.

Survivors include a daughter Pam Hefner of Spokane, WA, two sons Art (Mickie) Johnson of Mitchell County, GA, Wayne Johnson of Lee County, GA, thirteen grandchildren including Cynthia Hatcher, Jasmine Sullivan, and Shaun Johnson, a brother Roy (Pat) Johnson, a sister Penny (Susan) Johnson, three step-children Steve Paul, David Paul and Cindy Beard, all of Lee County, GA, sixteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and a very dear friend Jean Sancken.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Mathews Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
