Harold E. Ford

Harold E. Ford, 82, of Albany, GA, died March 17, 2017. Memorial services will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Ministry Center of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church. Rev. Leigh Ann Raynor, Rev. Nate Lehman, Rev. William Collins and Stephanie Hawke will officiate and Davis Kinney will lead music. A private entombment will be held at Crown Hill Mausoleum.

A native of Nashville, TN, Mr. Ford was raised and graduated from High School in Summertown, TN. After graduation, he moved to Washington, DC where he was employed with the Federal Bureau of Investigation while attending Southeastern University. Mr. Ford graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting and was employed in the retail furniture business.

He lived in Stone Mountain, GA and moved to Albany, GA in 1998. During his career, he was employed with Berkline Furniture Company and Smith Furniture Company as a manufacture representative retiring in 2011.

Mr. Ford was a very active member of Porterfield Memorial United Memorial United Methodist Church. Among other activities, he was a member of the Jesus 3:16 Sunday School Class, served as an usher at the 9:15 AM Service and received the Service Achievement Award. Mr. Ford was also a member of Stonebridge Golf and Country Club and he was an Honorary Deputy with the Dougherty County Sheriff's Department where he volunteered the Finger Printing Department. He loved his friends at Pearly's and Railway Freight and considered them as family.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Ford and his daughter, Stephanie ( Mark) Hawke all of Albany, GA, three daughters, Jennifer Hawke and Taylor Hawke both of Atlanta, GA and Paige Hawke of Auburn, AL and a brother, Donald Ray (Mary Ann) Ford of Summertown, TN.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour in the Ministry Center of Porterfield Memorial United Methodist Church.

The family is at the residence of Stephanie and Mark Hawke, 2614 Boynton Ln., Albany, GA, 31707.
