Gwin Nichols Crawford, Sr

Gwin Nichols Crawford, Sr., 59, of Columbus, GA, died Sunday February 5, 2012 at Lillian Carter Health and Rehab. in Plains, GA. Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Mathews Funeral Home.

A native of Birmingham, AL, Mr. Crawford had resided in Columbus, GA for the past twenty two years moving from Albany, GA. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a heavy equipment operator for C.W. Matthews Contracting Company. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jean Nichols Crawford and a brother, Terry Allen Crawford and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include a son, Gwin Nichols (Nick) Crawford, Jr., Leesburg, GA, a daughter, Sheri Lynn Crawford-Monroe, Hopkinsville, KY, his step-father, William Russell Crawford, Charleston, SC, two brothers, James Gordon Crawford, Thompson Station, TN, Russell (Rusty) Crawford, Logansville, GA, a sister, Toni Hillman, Charleston, SC and two grandchildren, Gwin Nichols Crawford, III and Madison Nicole Monroe.

The family will receive friends at Mathews Funeral Home following the services.

The family is at the residence of Gwin Nichols (Nick) Crawford, Jr., 159 Winding Way Apt.- C, Leesburg, GA.
