Gwendolyn (Gwen) Cooper Milliner

Gwendolyn (Gwen) Cooper Milliner, 81, of Leesburg, GA died August 29, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 AM at Avalon United Methodist Church. Rev. Dennis Laning will officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Born in Early County, GA to the late Marcine and Thelma Cooper, Mrs. Milliner moved to Albany in 1957. She married Homer E. Milliner on June 6, 1959. She is a retired school teacher and taught most of her thirty four years a Northside Elementary School. After retirement she served twenty eight years as a hospital volunteer (pink lady) at Palmyra Medical Center. Mrs. Milliner was also an excellent seamstress and active member of Avalon United Methodist Church where she taught the Ladies Bible Class.

Survivors include her husband: Homer E. Milliner; two daughters: Marty Milliner Gabriel (Pete), Bucyrus, OH, Connie Milliner Van Brackle (Michael), Leesburg, GA and six grandchildren: Anna, Jim and Robbie Gabriel; Charlie, Will and Gracie Van Brackle.

The family will receive friends and family Wednesday from 7:00 PM until 8:30 PM at Mathews Funeral Home.
