Glenn Allen McCarty

Glenn Allen McCarty, 73, of Albany, GA, died Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Bobby Moye will officiate. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery.

A native of Columbus, Ohio, Mr. McCarty had resided in Albany, GA most of his life. He had served in the Army and was retired from Wallace Chevrolet. He was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by a son, Gary Webb, his parents, George Albert McCarty and Jane Ann Elder McCarty, a brother, Gary L. McCarty and a sister, Hazel McCarty Nelson.

Survivors include his wife, Jewell McCarty, Albany, GA, a son, Tom McCarty, CA, three daughters, Brenda Holbrook, Sylvester, GA, Christine Bentley, Leesburg, GA, Misty Wood, Leesburg, GA, two brothers, Michael L. McCarty, AL, David McCarty, Lee Co., GA, five sisters, Betty McCarty Ross, Lee Co., GA, Carolyn Silva, CA, Sandra Page, Sylvester, GA, Mary Jane Etheridge, Worth Co., GA, Barbara Sidebottom, CA, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
