Glen Melvin Pinkston, 66, of Lee County, GA., died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Wilson Hospice House.
Glen was born on September 27, 1947 in Knoxville, TN to the late Lane Cox Pinkston and Laura Ann Pinkston, previously of Seymour, TN. He graduated from East High Knoxville, TN in 1965 and attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree. He served in the United Sates Army from 1967 until 1969, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant and in the Tennessee National Guard, Knoxville, TN from 1970 until 1972, attaining the rank of Captain, Company Commander.
He moved to Albany, GA in 1972 and has attended Byne Memorial Baptist Church, Life Gate Church and Wellspring Fellowship. He worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, Dayton Tire and Rubber Company, PIE Nationwide and has been employed with LRA Constructors, Inc. for twenty three years.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Myler Pinkston; his children Brian Pinkston and his wife Flynn McLane Pinkston, Charlottesville, VA; Christina Pinkston Yeilding and her husband, Scott Yielding, Smith Station, AL; and Laurie Beth Pinkston Bishop and her husband, Robert Bishop, Clay AL; his brother, Donald Pinkston and his wife Margaret Pinkston, Loudon, TN; and eight grandchildren, John Russell Pinkston, Quincy Pinkston, Florence Pinkston, Margaret Yeilding, Reid Yeilding, Ella Yeilding, Tucker Bishop and Brayden Bishop.

The family will receive friends Friday, September 19, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home in Albany, GA.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.at Byne Memorial Baptist Church in Albany, GA. Mr, Ben Barrow will officiate.
Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, September 20, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Park Hill Cemetery in Columbus, GA
