Gladys Corrine Spivey

Gladys Strickland Spivey, 92, of Albany, GA, died Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Palmyra Nursing Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. Rev. Charles Jones will officiate.

A native of Lowndes Co., GA, Mrs. Spivey had resided in Albany, GA since 1923. She was retired from Freitex and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Strickland and Emma Houseman Strickland and her husband, Ernest L. Spivey, Sr.

Survivors include a son, Lt. Col. Ernest L. Spivey, Jr., (US Army Ret.) and his wife GiGi, Sarasota, FL, two daughters, Myra Spivey King, Albany, GA, Sylvia Spivey Watson, Newton, GA, a daughter-in-law, Barbara Klein Spivey, Albany, GA and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
