Gladys S. Etheridge

Gladys S. Etheridge, 91, of Albany, GA died March 14, 2017 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Floral Memory Gardens. Rev. Charles Jones will officiate.

Born in Dublin, GA, Mrs. Etheridge was raised in Laurens County and moved to the Albany area from Macon, GA in 1952. She worked in her home caring for and raising her children, and was a member of Beacon Baptist Church. Mrs. Etheridge was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph (Joe) Snider, Sr., and Floyd Lindsey Etheridge, and a daughter, Brenda Grimes.

Survivors include three sons, Bill Grimes and his wife Betty, Joey Snider and his fiancee Sharon Bonner, and Dennis Snider and his wife Debbie, her step-children, Lorelle Haddock and her husband James, Lyndal McMillan, Larry Etheridge and his wife Mary Ann, her grandchildren, Haley Etheridge, Hannah Etheridge, Allison Snider, Ashley Alvarado, James Giddens, William H. (Billy) Grimes, III, Marty Grimes, Kristopher Grimes, Bonnie Dean, Faye Robinson, Dana Rutledge, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank Affinis Hospice, Trasandra Williams and Cares of The Heart, and Kim Robinson for their dedicated and caring assistance.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mathews Funeral Home.
