Gerald E. (Jerry) NeSmith

Gerald E. (Jerry) NeSmith, 83, of Lee County, GA, died August 4, 2016 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM at Thundering Springs Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Baggett will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A native of Moultrie, GA, Mr. NeSmith grew up in Tifton, GA. He graduated from Tift County High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. NeSmith attended Albany Technical College, ABAC and Georgia Southwestern College. He was employed with WALB TV for seven years and retired as a Service Engineer with C and D Battery Company. Mr. NeSmith was a member of Thundering Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Pat) NeSmith of Lee County, GA, two sons and their wives, Michael and Dominique NeSmith of Jacksonville, NC and Gerald and Linda NeSmith of Lee County, GA and two grandchildren, Christopher Cassady of Sanford, FL and Catherine Cassady of Savannah, GA.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Thundering Springs Baptist Church.
