Gerald Matthew (Matt) Klias

Gerald Matthew (Matt) Klias, 52, of Albany, GA passed away Friday, May 26, 2023 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Leary City Cemetery. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.

Survivors include a daughter, Riley Shewmake of Albany, GA, mother, Jeanette Thornton Klias of Albany, GA, two sisters, Laura Klias of Albany, GA, Stacey Klias Cross and her husband Chris of Baker County, GA, and the two boys he raised as his sons, Reb Burgess, Tallahassee, FL and Wade Burgess, Camilla, GA.

Matt was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Matthew (Buck) Klias and a brother, Johnny Matthew Klias, Jr. that died as an infant.

Matt was born on October 11, 1970 in Albany, GA to parents Buck and Jeanette Klias. Matt had a variety of life and job experiences. He traveled and lived in several different cities and states before returning to Albany. He joined the family business, Superior Heating and Cooling, where he worked alongside his parents until they retired. He then opened his own business as Matt's Heating and Cooling. He continued their tradition of providing quality service to their loyal customers until the pandemic.

Matt enjoyed spending time with family, friends and his dog, and kayaking and canoeing on the creek

Matt was many things to many people and will be tremendously missed by those who loved him. His generous and kind spirit will be missed.
