George C. Mills

George C. Mills, 85, of Putney, GA, died June 8, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Mathews Funeral Home. Mr. Ross Powell will officiate.

Mr. Mills was born in Kearny, NJ on February 22, 1934 to the late Aaron and Sarah Mills. He moved to Albany, GA in 1992 from Hialeah, FL and was employed for seventeen years with the Dougherty County Sheriff’s Office at the jail as a Maintenance Supervisor. Mr. Mills was formerly employed with Wells Fargo. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Mills.

Survivors include his children, Linda Ryals of Albany, GA, Barbara Mills of Medina, OH, Robert Hormilla of Albany, GA, Cari Hormilla of West Palm Beach, FL and Kimberly (Aljandro) Salazar of Orlando, FL, a sister, Emma Carrol of Danville, PA and eleven grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday at Mathews Funeral Home.
