George Wallace (Bud) McDonald

George Wallace (Bud) McDonald, 82, of Dawson, GA died Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 31, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy McDonald will officiate. Interment will follow in Providence Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Worth Co., GA.

Bud was born in Sylvester, GA to Gordon & Louise McDonald. He attended school in Albany, GA. He entered the construction business in Albany & continued his trade in Cochran, GA by owning & operating McDonald Construction for many years. After retirement from the construction business, He built, owned & operated Mt. Vernon Inn & McDonald's Lodge in Hazlehurst, GA. Bud has spent the past several years traveling & living in Big Fork, Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon Hilton McDonald and Mary Louise Barfield McDonald, a brother, William L. (Sam) McDonald and a sister, Evelyn McDonald Myers.

Survivors include three sons, H.W. (Pete) McDonald, Bigfork, MT, Charles Gilbert McDonald, Lake Blackshear, GA, Lonnie Alexander McDonald, Dublin, GA, three daughters, Phyllis McDonald Huber, Hillsboro, IL, Theresa McDonald Godwin, Gray, GA, Angela McDonald Googe, Cochran, GA, a brother, Arnold Lawrence (Larry) Baker, III, Dawson, GA, a sister Hazel McDonald Williams, Danville, VA, twenty grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at Mathews Funeral Home.
