George M. Combs, 95, of Albany, GA, died July 22, 2016 at Wynfield Health and Rehabilitation Center. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Crown Hill Cemetery. Norman Denney will officiate. The Tri-County Memorial Club will provide Masonic Rites.
A native of Washington Township, Guernsey County, OH, born to the late Clyde H. and Amanda Jane Combs. Mr. Combs served in the United States Army in the European Theatre during World War II. He had resided in Albany, GA since 1953 moving from Akron, OH. Mr. Combs was employed with Pet Dairies as a salesman, retiring in 1985 and had the first WIC route in Albany, GA. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, was a York Rite Mason and was a member of Dougherty Lodge # 591 F & AM.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gordon George Combs, a brother-in-law, Robert Marquart and a nephew, David Simpson. Survivors include his daughter, Karen Combs Wells of Arcadia, FL, his sisters, Ruth E. Marquart and Zola Jane Simpson and her husband, Forest all of Wadsworth, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the staff of Wynfield Park Health and Rehabilitation Center for their care and support during Mr. Combs stay.
