Frederick C. “Fred” Simon, 94, of Panama City Beach, FL, formerly of Albany, GA., passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Friday, May 3, 2024 at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday May 9, 2024 at 11:00 am at Crown Hill Cemetery. Gage Hormilla and Ross Powell will officiate. Military Honors will be provided by The United States Navy.
Fred was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts to the late Frederick Max and Bertha Simon. Fred was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the United States Navy. After his service in the Navy he graduated from The University of Georgia with a Masters Degree in Psychology. He was a member of Triangle Lodge #708 F&AM, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of Hasan Shrine Temple of Albany. He retired as a probation officer for the State of Georgia. Fred was preceded in death by his son, Terry Lee Simon and grandson-in-law, Robert Hormilla.
Survivors include his son, Fred W. Simon (Leisa) of Albany, Ga, grandchildren, Tonya Hormilla of Panama City Beach, FL, Ali Ray of Leesburg, GA, great-grandchildren, Jordan Chaplik (Zac) Gage Hormilla, Grayson Ray, and one great great-grandchild, Shepard Chaplik.
